What this site provides

app-development-cost.com publishes a cost estimation tool and accompanying editorial content about software development cost in the United States. It is provided free of charge, for informational and planning purposes.

Estimates are not quotes or offers

This is the term that matters most. Every figure this site produces is a planning estimate and an indicative range. It is not:

• a quotation;
• an offer capable of acceptance;
• a commitment to perform work at any price;
• a professional valuation, or financial, legal or regulatory advice.

Final development cost depends on finalised technical requirements. No contract is formed by using the calculator or by receiving an estimate from it.

Compliance information

The site describes regulatory regimes such as HIPAA, SOC 2, PCI DSS and FedRAMP in order to price engineering effort. Those descriptions are engineering context, not legal advice, and whether a regime applies to you is a question for your own counsel and compliance advisers. Do not rely on this site to determine your regulatory obligations.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• scrape, mirror or systematically extract the site’s content or its pricing model for commercial redistribution;
• present output from this site as your own quotation, or as an estimate endorsed by us, to a third party;
• attempt to disrupt the site, or submit the contact form automatically or in bulk;
• use the site in violation of any applicable law.

You are welcome to use estimates internally, share estimate links, and cite the site with attribution.

Third-party names

Product, company and platform names on this site — including well-known applications used as feature-complexity comparisons, and vendors named as integrations — are the trademarks of their respective owners. They are referenced descriptively, to identify a category of functionality or a system you might integrate with. No affiliation, sponsorship or endorsement is claimed or implied, and nothing here is an official estimate for any named company’s product.

Intellectual property

The site’s content, design and estimation model are owned by Taction Software LLC. You may quote short extracts with attribution and a link.

No warranty

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including as to accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, or uninterrupted availability. We work hard on the model’s accuracy and test it, but software estimation is inherently uncertain and we do not warrant that any estimate will match what you are ultimately quoted or what a project ultimately costs.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Taction Software LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or opportunity, arising from your use of this site or reliance on any estimate it produces. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Changes

We may update the model, the content and these terms. Rates and hour figures are revised as market conditions change; an estimate reflects the model as it stood when it was generated, and reopening a shared link reprices it against the current model.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and, where applicable, the state of incorporation of Taction Software LLC, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.
