The short version: no cookies, no analytics, no tracking. We collect your contact details at one point — the form that opens your estimate — and through the optional contact form. Nothing else.

What we do not do

No analytics. There is no Google Analytics, no product analytics, and no tracking pixel on this site.
No cookies. We set none. Nothing on this site reads or writes a cookie.
No client-side storage. The calculator keeps your answers in memory and in the page URL only. Nothing is written to local storage, session storage or IndexedDB, so closing the tab discards everything.
No third-party requests from your browser. The typeface is self-hosted at build time, so the page loads no external fonts, scripts, embeds or iframes.
No advertising, and no data sold or shared. Ever, to anyone.

The calculator

The estimator itself runs entirely in your browser. Your answers to the questions are never transmitted to us as you answer them. Your configuration is encoded into the page URL so that an estimate can be bookmarked or shared — which means anyone you send that link to can see those answers. Do not put confidential detail into a link you intend to share widely; the calculator asks only for categorical choices precisely so it never needs anything sensitive.

Before the estimate is shown, we ask for your contact details. This step is required: the estimate does not open until it is submitted. When you submit it, we receive your name and email address, your company and phone number if you give them, the link that encodes your answers, and the headline figures we worked out — the cost range, timeline and hours.

The contact form

The quote request form on our contact page is separate and entirely optional — it is for telling us about a project in your own words.

If you choose to submit it, we receive:

Your name and email address, so we can reply.
Your company name, phone number and budget range, if you provide them.
Your estimate link and project description, if you provide them.

Both of those submissions are forwarded to our inbox by email through Resend, our transactional email provider, who processes it solely to deliver it. We use it only to respond to your enquiry. We do not add you to a mailing list, and there is no newsletter to be added to.

The route that handles the form records your IP address transiently, in memory, for rate limiting. It is not written to disk, not logged, and not retained beyond a minute.

Retention

Enquiry emails are kept in our inbox for as long as the conversation is live and for up to 24 months afterwards. Ask us to delete yours at any time and we will.

Your rights

Because the only personal information we hold is an email you chose to send, exercising your rights is straightforward: write to hello@app-development-cost.com and ask us to provide, correct or delete it. Depending on where you live you may have rights under the CCPA/CPRA or the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion and portability. We do not sell or share personal information as those laws define it.

Children

This site is a business tool and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Changes

If we add analytics, another endpoint, or any client-side storage, this page is updated in the same change that adds it. That is a rule recorded in the codebase, not an aspiration.
